Multi-Disciplinary
Team
The Children’s Advocacy Center of Benton County uses
a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) approach to
investigate, treat and prosecute child abuse. Child
services, law enforcement, and the prosecuting
attorney’s office, CAC clinical and medical staff
collaborate to ensure efficient and objective
investigations; healing for children and
non-offending family members; and the appropriate
prosecution of offenders
Forensic Interviewer
A Forensic Interviewer speaks with survivors of
abuse in a neither non-leading nor suggestive
manner. The Interviewer is trained to speak with
abused children in a safe, child friendly
atmosphere, where the child will feel comfortable.
Child Advocate
The child advocate is an individual who works with
the families to encourage support and understanding
while providing access to follow up services
regarding mental and medical health. The child
advocate strives to reduce the systematic trauma to
the children and their families by staying in
contact with the family, supporting them and helping
with any other referral services that are needed.
